I am just getting started with the smokenator and an curious as to technique around doing a longer smoke, like for a brisket. I see alot of recipes calling for 14 hours in the smoker. Has anyone done anything like this with the smokenator? How did it turn out?

Sure there is no problem doing extended smoking. What you need to do is after 6-7 hrs. using the the first batch of coals is start up another just like the first batch 12-15 hot coals and 50-60 coals ready to go into the smokenator. You can wrap the meat in foil if you want but if you time things right it won't take you long to make the switch. It takes me from 3 to 5 minutes to make the change over. With adding extra coals this will allow you to cook a 5-6lb brisket for 12-14 hrs. I also don't add much wood after the first 6 hrs that is the prime time that the bark smoke ring is received. Just do a little to maintain the smoke. This will give you a great brisket, or pork shoulder.
