Hi all!
Sorry I am going to be the one that resurrects old threads, but I can't find anythibg more recent. I am looking to do this mod so I can use my new ThermPro TP-08, but am struggling here in the UK to find the bits needed. Looking at alternatives to the light fittings, I was looking st just getting a silicon rubber grommet ( can withstand up to 500 deg C), has anyone tried this way?
Or is there a more preferred method of doing it now?

Sorry for the late reply jammyg but no there are really no better ways to do it. I didn't even do the grommet. I just drilled a hole small enough to pass the probes one at a time through it and unless I have a strong wind do not have any smoke loss through it.
