dear stephanie, i've been using the smokenator (w/ hovergrill) for more than one year now and am still impressed by its reliability and easyness to cook with in my kettle. in order to honor don i recently invited my whole family to my first thanksgiving turkey on november, 26th. - the germans do not celebrate thanksgiving the way the us-americans do. and they certainly are not familiar with a 15 pound turkey from the grill. oldmountainbbq.wordpress.com/2009/11/27/thanksgiving-turkey/though not following don's instruction completely, my turkey was a true success: i set up the smokenator without water pan and fired it up to 180°C, then smoked the turkey for 1 hour and cooked it for 2 further hours. after 3 hours the bird was perfect, the skin was crisp and my guests were embarassed by its taste and mouthwatering smooth flesh (24 hours in brine, 24 hours to dry cool). cheers from germany, ratgar
