Sorry if this question has been asked and answered. I just got my smokenator today. Now i just need the foot of snow i got today to melt and i am ready to go!! I noticed a pic on amazingribs.com with a rib rack located on the coal support grill, not the food support grill.
The manual stated that "most of your cooking is done on the food support grill" but what is the best place to cook ribs with the smokenator? Coal support grill? Food support grill?
Does it matter if space is not an issue?
If space is an issue, can you cook on the coal support grill, food support grill, and hovergrill at the same time?
Any advice or thoughts would be much appreciated!!
THANKS!!
MC

I always cook on the regular food support grill. If I needed the space I would use all three.I think the charcoal support would be a little low in temp. You would want to rotate the food.If your dome temp is 240 , then food support around 225/220 and the the charcoal grate would be around 190/200.That would be my guess.

Anyone have any pics showing how much you can REALLY load up with the hovergrill and a rib rack? I'm just curious as to set ups. I've done cooking on the food support and the hovergrill before but I never thought of utilizing the coal support before.
Also has anyone ever used a rib rack on just the food support grill before? I keep thinking that I should just chop up my ribs, coat em with a small layer of oil, rub em down and put them on the hovergrill but I can see using a rib rack on the top saving me a lot of heart ache
