I'm seriously considering getting a smokenator in lieu of a dedicated smoker but I have a question. I've got a Weber Performer with the gas ignition. Would I have to get a separate charcoal starter tube or can I still use the gas ignition to start the coals? Any other quirks to using it with the Performer?
Thanks,
Rich

Never mind, I saw some pictures from another poster that shows how its done. In retrospect I can only claim a "senior moment" Rich

Heya Rich,
I had the same question, mind directing me to the thread where you found your answer?
Thanks, Paul

I just started my first batch of pork loin using the Smokenator and a Weber Performer. I just put the Smokenator and unlit coals in the grill as instructed and put 16 Kingsfords in the center and lit 'em up with the ignitor. Used a pair of tongs to place the lit coals in the Smokenator, let the dome come up to temp and away I went. Been about 2 1/2 hrs and the temp has been very steady.
