Hope someone can lend a bit of advise. I usually cook my ribs for 6 hours and they come out just right. I'm in a competition in a couple weeks and they have a 4 hour time limit. Can this be done with the Smokenator? I really want to use it for the contest as I've had great results with it so far. I have done a couple test runs with a few slabs and had good results but want to know if there's something else that you more experienced Smokenatorites may know. Thanks for your your help! Charlieo

4 hours will work in an oven, but even then I like to go closer to 5 hours.....but, I also like my ribs VERY fall of the bone.
I have not been able to get my smokenator ribs to come out as tender as I can do in the oven....yet.

quadcam, try using the "Texas Crutch" to tenderize your ribs: 1 hour with a half-cup of apple juice in a tightly sealed aluminum foil container will do the trick. then another hour out of the foil.

cook ribs at 225 to 250 degs. (grate temp, not dome temp) for 2hrs. than wrap the ribs in foil and cook for 1 than unwrap and cook for one more hour. no need to had smoke after the first 2hrs. I like to have my temp at 250degs and wrap the ribs for 1.5hrs and than unwrap and cook 1/2 hr oh! when you wrap ribs add a little apple juice, beer, etc. going to cook some up will post receipe and pics. hope this helps
