The first day I got the smokenator I got home and decided to do some ribs, I threw on a rub with some brown sugar on top, got the smokenator going and put my ribs on a few minutes later. After an hour or so all the brown suger was gone as if it melted and slid off of the ribs. Question, is it the humidity that caused this? should I do a dry smoke for the first how to crust it? or was is the fact that I did not give the rub and sugar enough time to adhere to the ribs?

you know that old expression, "it's not the heat, it's the humidity"? well in this case, "it's not the humidity, it's the heat".
sugar will melt when heated. How much brown sugar were you putting on? If you put on so mucht that it slid off, you probably had too much anyway. You said that you put on a rub and sugar on top. The brown sugar should be part of your rub, not added on top of the rub..
