Hi Everyone,
I own a 26.75 inch One Touch Gold. I'm strongly considering the Smokenator 2600. I am also new to this board and to smoking in general. Does the Smokenator slide in and out "easily" and is it even advisable to remove the smokenator once it's installed? Why would I ask? I enjoy cooking burgers dogs and steaks over very hot lump charcoal for quick cooks. I just want to make sure that I won't somehow hinder the smokenator's performance by constantly putting it in and then taking it out between fast and hot cooks and low and slow cooks....Thanks.

Yes, it is super easy to move in and out. It just sort of rests on two of the grill support tabs and the bottom grill grate. It's made out of sturdy metal that isn't going to get messed up by being moved around a lot. I remove mine for the same reasons you want to and I have no trouble with it at all. Order one today, you're going to love it. Also, if you're not going to be cooking enough to need all of the top grill space, you can leave the smokenator in place, put the coals on the other side (outside of it) and not even worry about removing it.
