Hey, I am debating if I should get a smokenator or a weber smokey mountain... Can the smokenator on the 22" weber handle a whole packer brisket? What about a packer on the bottom and on the top grill... 13 lbs on the top, 13 lbs on the bottom, for 16 hours. I know I will have to refill it a bunch of times, but is this asking too much of the little piece of metal?

Check out my thread titled "pulled pork" I put a few pictures of the pork butt I smoked a month or so ago. The one in the picture is about six and a half pounds and it's on a 22'' weber. Should give you some kind of reference as to how much can fit on there.

Hey Guys-just got my smokenator and I'm planning on smoking a whole brisket. 10-12 pounds. I know I'm looking at min 12-15 hours to get it to 190. (1.5 hours/ pund avg)
Question I have is roughly how often will I need to refill my charcoal and wood chunks? And what are some good signs to know I need to refill. Obviously temp drop...but how much of a drop? Any other signs? Also should I be starting over entirely or just adding s few unlit coals. Thanks BTW I also bought the maverick ET-73 to help monitor my temps...Thanks!

I like to add coals every 4 hours. This helps prevent temp drops. The wood chucks will last about 3 hours.
