Looking to get new webber but want to know if I should go with silver or gold one touch for the extra I can get nator too. This will be first smoker so want to get what I need. I purchased the basic but have not opened due to reading that the directions are for gold any input would be great.

Silver will work fine. It just doesn't have the ash catcher.

I have the silver. Works great for me. I clean it out after every smoke session. As for temp. control save yourself the time and trouble and get a decent temp. probe with readout that you can clip right on the grate by your food for accurate temps. That made a night and day difference with my end product. Wish I had more time to use it now!
