I am having a major problem with keeping my Kingsford coals from burning out at 2 to three hours. Using the instructions submitted with the Smokenator and 4 clamps on my Silver Weber to keep from having the temp rise. My top vent at 3/16 and the bottom vent at about an 1/8th of an inch open at startup. No matter how I manipulate the vents, my coals burnout at about 2 to 3 hours. Any help would be appreciated!!!!

What is your grill and/or dome temperature? How many starter coals are you using?

My grill temp is around 230-235 using a Maverick 73 dual probe. As per instructions 48 in the smokenator and 12 lit and added to the smokenator.

Based off of those numbers your dome temp will be above 250. Probably 270-280 degrees. If you get the dome temp above 250 you can see the coals burn fast. Lets try reducing the number of starter coals and keep the temp at the grill a little cooler.
