Hello all I seem to have miss placed my instructions for my smokenator 180 for my 18.5" weber kettle. Is there somewhere i can download a pdf of it?
All i really need to know is how many unlit briquettes i need to put in first and how many lit briquettes to go on top?
Got 2 rib racks waiting to go in!!
Thanks for any help

It's something like 48 unlit to 12 lit. That's for warm weather - 70 and above. You may need to vary that amount to adjust this time of year depending on where you're at.
The total of 60 never changes (it's pretty close to being full at that point). If it's below 60 degrees out or windy/both/etc you may go up to 20. There's no real problem with it being a bit too much lit - you can slow the burn down by closing vents, etc. However, if you start with too few, it can really be hard to get temp up. I'd err on the side of too hot to start out than too cool.
I've been in colder weather and had to go closer to 1/2 and 1/2 (temp in the teens and windy). It worked fine, but you just have to adjust your coal tending - you'll need to add coals earlier and more often.
GOOD LUCK! Make sure you post pics of before/after/etc. WE LOVE PRON to look at.

I just saw you were on a 18.5 - my numbers were for a 22.5 - sorry.
I have no idea how many in your case. Maybe fill it up with unlit, counting how many along the way and take out 20% or so and light those.
