Tomorrow I'll be attempting a bacon wrapped pork tenderloin. I'm thinking a sweet rub and maybe apple wood smoke.. should be good! I wanted pecan wood but the store didn't have it, maybe I'll check again tomorrow

Hey Nitro agree with Pecan but it is hard to find, Weber produces a 5lb bag for 6.99 on Amazon. Do an apple and a short smoke with Hickory which is the cousin to Pecan. Don't overdue the Hickory. You can also use oak or maple instead with the apple.
Good luck it sounds good.

Thanks for the tips! I found pecan at a local store! The tenderloins came out amazing though I forgot to take pictures because I was so hungry.. The better half loved it and is hooked on me smoking foods for us! SN is a must for me right now until I am no longer a beginner

The recipe was a simple pork rub not heavy on spice.. and wrapped it in bacon! The bacon was boarshead which is a nice thick cut with not a lot of fat.. After the smoke the bacon was soft so I crisped it over the hot coals.. as far as the rub went it was just kinda thrown together the ingredients were Paprika Black Pepper Brown Sugar Garlic Powder Chili Powder and some Creaol Seasoning
