I haven't bought any bags yet, but plan to run by there on my way home from work. I wish I was retired like you and Allan so I can work on this craft. I'd like to do a run of ribs before this weekend to see how they turn out without wrapping.

Jay no need to do big pieces of meat to get used to smoking. Do smaller things to experiment with different rubs and woods. Use things like chicken legs and country style ribs these can be done in 2-3 hours. I don't know if I mentioned but keep a note book on what you are doing on each smoke. Time is precious and when I started I was working full time also. So be patient and smoke when you can and refer to your notes when you do, even if it is only once a month. PS Ask the wife if she would like some smoked/bbqed pulled pork, chicken, etc. you may find out she'd be a supporter.

Tom, Home Depot had the same sale. While I didn't get 8 double bags, I did get 2 double bags. :-D
