Hi John the Mastertouch looks exactly like the Weber Gold that I have. Convert the metric measurements to inches and and if they are 22 1/2 the 1000 will fit. England has a funny thing with having things imported in that they have to be renamed or that they can't be imported. The real place to ask is info@smokenator.com since they sell them. Also check to see if the grill sets on four tabs. The SN will hook onto two of these tabs for a sturdy setup.

Jet just used my inch to metric converter and 22 1/2 inches converts to 57.15 cm so I think the SN1000 would work perfectly with your Mastertouch.

John your not mad I'll smoke down at those temps all winter long. It's part of the disease we get when we smell the smoke and taste the meat. LOL Seriously by using the vents you will be able to smoke down to 0 C if you want to. I often smoke a turkey at Christmas when it can be in the 2-5C range.

Well it finally arrived, assembled and seasoned the grill, couple of things I noticed before I test run the Smokenator with 3/4 full chimney starter of charcoal and both vents fully open my kettle lid leaks v badly if I turn the lid round it leaks from one side, secondly the temp from the thermometer in the Mastertouch never exceeded 210 C so first thing is I need to invest in some clips to arrest the leak but after reading instructions for Smokenator do I leave bottom vent fully open or adjust, conflicting messages in instructions Cheers

Hi Jet first let me reassure you 210C is 410F you will never smoke anything at that high a temp. I smoke turkeys at 325F that is the max I go. Your most used temp will be 225F for ribs, pork butts and roasts, and beef roasts and brisket.
Now for the lid it sounds like it may have gotten out of round in shipping. Take 6 measurements around the lid equidistant from each points, in other words make 6 pie slices. They should be equal. If they are not you can push the lid together to align it so that it will be more round. Wear gloves and just keep going around until you get it as round as you can. This is from another post in the forum so I can't take credit for it.
I like to start the bottom vent at 1/2 open and the top vent at 1/3 open when doing a smoke at 225F. I will open or close down the bottom vent first as the smoke needs some place to go. If the temp is close I'll adjust the top vent.
You might also want to get a Maverick ET 732 or 733 thermometer to measure temps at the grill and in the meat. It measures in centigrade. I drilled a hole at grill level just over the size of the probes and inserted them through the hole..

My converter stopped working yesterday so here are the conversions from my F to C from above. 225F = 107.22C 325F = 162.78C
Hope this helps.
