Weber accessory causing problems

Using my kit for the first time today - temp tried to run at ~ 300F

Turns out, the Weber tool hanger was letting in too much air - the system seems to behave closer to that described in the instructions after I took it off.

something to watch out for. It also probably indicates houw importan a tight-fitting lid is.

You found the key. The SN requires a tight lid. Some people have a slightly warped lid with excess smoke coming out under it use 1 1/2 inch clips used to hold papers together, to hold it tight.
