Smokenator doesn't fit very well

Got my smokenator yesterday.
However it doesn't seem to fit very well.
The baffle is too long. Although the tabs fit through the coals grill it sits up too high.
Also there is nowhere for the tabs on the top surface to sit into. My grill has a solid lip all around it - I can't see the tabs mentioned in the manual.

Am I being dumb or are there different models of these kettles?

My grill has 4 tabs that support the cooking grate. maybe you have a different brand of grill that support the cook grate with a solid rim?

however, there are Weber's made in China for the Austarlian/Asian market that have a different design not compatible with the SN;

Yeah, that's what mine looks like - bought in the UK about 2010. It is a Weber.

I was able to actually get the test run running OK.
Guess I'll need to decide whether to cut it down or send it back...
