Hi, I have a Weber Kettle that is probably close to 30 years old. The inside of the kettle is covered in black soot. How often do you guys clean your kettles and what is the proper method for doing so.
Thanks

um - I have no pride in admitting I just use a stick to knock the loose stuff out of the dome.

I use a product from Lowe's that comes in a blue bottle. Don't remember the name but it really cleans the lid and grill which is made up of both soot and creosote and I don't like falling down on the meat. It is there grill section. It is in a spray bottle and I use a green scrub pad.
