A great big wave to my fellow Smokenators !
I picked up my -new-to-me Weber SSP yesterday, it came complete with the Smokenator 1000 i put it to the test last night , with some chicken breasts and apple wood chunks. My best to date chicken was served for dinner last night. i found the skin abit soft , so i dumped the smokenator and finished up the grilling with the chicken over the coals.
crunchy skin, full flavoured meat

Welcome to the group. You found the one problem with the Smokenator. It doesn't do chicken skins crispy well. Like you if you want some smoke flavor smoke for a while then spread the coals and cook skin side down for a crispy skin.
