VPN, UDP and torrenting

Hi,

My VPN provider I have chosen to connect via UDP to mask my IP. Since most of the torrent traffic uses TCP, does this mean that if my torrent client connects to others via TCP my IP will not be masked through my VPN connection, since that connection is using UDP?

Any idea?
