Can't install Windows 8 - no keyboard or mouse (usb)

Hi,

I have tried 3 times and about ready to give up...

I get to the color selection preference screen and asked to choose...

my mouse and keyboard do not work - in fact no usb ports are powered

really weird - never had an issue like this before

Any idea?
