I would like to extend my sincerest condolences to Don's loved ones and friends. I was very saddened to learn of his death today. I found it fitting that I was using his wonderful product all day today when I came in out of the heat to read my email. In this time of large corporations that don't care about anything but profits, Don seemed to be a wonderful example of how a company should operate: a great idea, a great product, and great customer service.
I wish his wife, family, and friends all the peace and comfort they need in this sad time.
Sincerely Yours, Richard

I posted this in another thread; however, I wanted to piggy back on Richard's thoughts.
I just wanted you to know that I am sorry to hear the loss of your husband and father. I too was using the Smokenator all day. I can look at this product and see how much time and dedication he put into this AWESOME idea. My friends and family think I am the best grill master out there. I wanted you know that I could not have done it without the Smokenator. I have emailed Don a couple of times and he responded right away. Customer service was great!
May God Bless you and comfort you during this time.

My condolences to the family. Apart from ordering the product just two weeks ago, Don send me several emails regarding the use of it. I was impressed about his personal touch in his tips and guidelines in using the product. He transformed a commercial transaction into a friendship conversation.
Rest in Peace
Sincerely yours, Jose

My deepest sympathy goes out to Don's family. What a GREAT man.
I had the pleasure to speak with Don on the phone a couple times with questions about the Smokenator. His customer service was over the top. I bought the smokenator in the spring of 2007 and I have no regrets.
Thank you Don!

I am saddened to hear of Don's passing. It was just a few weeks ago that I became aware of Don Thompson's Smokenator and immediately and eagerly placed an ordered. His invention is nothing short of genius. Don was quick to respond to my emails on ordering and with use of product answers. I delighted in his personal touch and commitment to my successful use of his product.
Don has been the subject of many conversations over the past month, as I've told friends of his exceptional invention. This weekend, The Smokenator was in full use (Fri/Sat/Sun) and I raised a cold one in remembrance of Don.
I offer my deepest sympathies to his wife, children, family, friends and admirers.
Best,
Greg "Buckles" Westerville, Ohio

My deepest condolences to the family. As soon as I saw the Smokenator online, I knew I had to have one. I had the pleasure to speak with Don on the phone a couple times with questions about the Smokenator. His customer service was just overwhelmingly honest, straight to the point but he talked in such a way that I could understand him. Which you do not get very often these days. He was excited at what I told him I wanted to cook. I know he will greatly missed, God bless to the Family

This is a cut and paste from an email to Jennifer Thompson. I simply want to add my comments and keep this thread alive:
"Jennifer,
I am so sorry to hear of the loss to your family. Don was an outstanding person with a good head for business. He was instrumental in my success in using his wonderful product to create some outstanding food. He went above and beyond what was necessary to ensure good customer service. He will be sorely missed by this lifelong customer.
Please feel free to share this email with any or all of your family members. I only hope that these words may provide some measure of comfort in this difficult time for you.
Sincerely and with great sadness,
Michael J. Campbell"

Wow! I guess I am late. Just found out about the creator of the Smokenator passing. Very sad. He seemed like a very good genuine person and I was very surprised by his excellent customer service.
